Now Those Were Cartoons

On this day in 1958, Smurfs, the cartoon, was introduced. I remember Saturday mornings sitting in front of the television with a bowl of Captain Crunch, watching the adventures of Gargamel (this is probably spelled wrong), Smurfette, Papa Smurf, and Brainy. Now those were the days when cartoons were good and being a child was grand. The cartoons they have now, like the Bratz, should be taken off the air. Kids have no idea what they are missing by not seeing the Smurfs, old-school Scooby Doo, Ducktales, and my favorite, Woody Woodpecker. We would race home after school for the 3:00 showing of Ducktales and Woody Woodpecker and a bologna sandwich. Thank you to Peyo for helping to making lasting memories.
