what is a dream but a tormentor of the soul
the cause of this burning sensation from
the top of my head to the tips of my toes

what is a dream but a tiring climb to the top
that chills my soul and makes the sweat
run like blood

what is a dream but a figment of my imagination
and an unreachable summit which sends my soul on
a current of endless pain

what is a dream that swells and bursts
or stinks and runs
but a treat
that I can't reach
