New Beginnings

I am returning to my blog to improve my writing and thinking about my current research. I am in the process of putting together my reading list for my area exams, which is a pain, but I am actually becoming more excited about my possible work in the dissertation. Currently, I am finding a way to combine the study of loss, trauma, mourning, diaspora (travel, exile), memory, landscape (or place), racial violence, mourning, visual culture, the body (embodiment), aesthetics, and ethics into a manageable and related topic. It all fits in my mind, but how to create reading lists that helps me read and relate all of this is a challenge. I've been told that I think too complexly. I think it is true, but hey genius is often unable to be contained :-).
